Things are going to change

So things are getting interesting in the Hearon household. We have spent the last several months visiting colleges, reviewing mass amounts of material to find the 'perfect college" for our daughter Bethany to attend this fall. She was accepted to several schools and has decided to attend Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee. We looked at different sized schools and ultimately Bethany liked the look and feel of a small college. So now we are trying to get paperwork done and financial aid forms filled out. For those of you that have been there you know what I'm talking about. In the midst of all of this it has become painfully clear to me that come this fall our lives are really going to change. We are so accustomed to a parade of teenagers coming in and out of our home on a weekly basis that I can't imagine what is going to like without that happening. The kids that are here week after week are like part of our family. When they're not around it's just way too quiet!
For the past 19 years I have been a stay at home mom. My life has been pretty much all about my kids. Transporting them to school, volunteering at school, taking them to extra curricular activities, etc. You know mom stuff. So in a few months when we drop our baby girl off at college, we are going to have to make some major life adjustments. Things are going to be a lot quieter around here and I am going to have to figure out what to do with myself. That's a blog for another day!
Life is all about change. It's going to happen whether we want it to or not. We might as well roll with the punches. We can fight it kicking and screaming or we can choose to remain positive, looking for the opportunities that await. Stand for what you believe in but don't be afraid of change. Who knows? You might even just like it!
